MEMORY ENHANCEMENT WORKSHOP

A five day Memory enhancement workshop from 8^th July to 12^th July 2019 was conducted by Squadron Leader Mr. Jayasimha, multiple Guinness record holder. This workshop was conducted for the junior school and senior school students of CBSE.  

The first day saw our students memorising list of words by fabricating stories. On the second day, they memorized countries, capitals, currencies, historical years and numerical data. At the end of the third day they were able to memorize English vocabulary and overcome English spelling mistakes. By the fourth day, they learnt on how to develop concentration, brain gym exercises and speed reading techniques. The final day concluded with training eyes for speed reading and speed reading strategies. At the end of the day a simple test was conducted on the objectives taught during the workshop.

The students and the staffs were indeed benefitted and they expressed their happiness and new found confidence.

SESSION ON TED TALK

 On 22^nd July 2019, a awareness session on the topic “TED TALK” for students of grades VII to XII, IGCSE, was conducted by Dr. Kalavathi Tiwari, Professor of Communicative English. The students were acquainted with the rules to be followed in TED TALK. It was explained to the students that the speaker ought to remember three aspects while delivering a TED TALK. In the word TED, ‘T’ letter signifies Technology, ‘E’ signifies Entertainment and ‘D’ Design. One has to utilise Technology in order to attract the audience of 21^st century. In TED TALK, the speaker has to observe three aspects. These are (i) Topic Introduction and the purpose of selecting a particular topic.(ii) Teasing the audience with stimulating gestures and fun (iii) Tell Tale with anecdotes or quotes or stories or own experiences.

The resource person selected “Artificial Intelligence” a topic for TED TALK and made it very clear how to deliver a TED TALK utilising all necessary techniques to make it extraordinarily effective and impressive.

JAIN HERITAGE SCHOOL – MODEL UNITED NATIONS

JNMUN 5.0 was conducted from 26th to 29th July, 2019 at Jain Heritage School. Nine delegates from Jain International Residential School.

The MUN had various interesting committees such as the United Nations Security Council, Arab League, Disarmament and International Security Committee and many more. All delegatesparticipating  had researched well and excelled in the debating sessions and won awards.

Master Anshul Jain of grade XI (CBSE) won the Best Delegate award. Miss. Bhakti Jain of grade XI (CBSE) was awarded to a Commendable Delegate. Master

Yashwardhan Bansal, Master Tushar Malhotra, Master Keshav Drolia, Master SanskarChakroborty and Master RudranshKedia, all students of grade XI (CBSE) won special mentions for our school.

CAREER COUNSELLING FOR SAT BY JAMBOREE

 On 30^th July 2019, the grades XI IBDP and IGCSE ‘A’ and ‘AS’ level students were mentored by experts from Jamboree on coaching for analytical and verbal skills of SAT. They also gave information on university admission, a wide gamut of academic programs in countries abroad, including the United States of America, Canada, the United Kingdom, Ireland, Australia, Europe and Singapore. Her guidance comprehensively covered application process and deadlines, qualifying exams and grades, cultural ambience and adjustment, costs and scholarships etc. The session also included detailed one to one counseling and Question and Answer.

This practice has led to students frequently making higher education decisions in a vacuum, leading to high dropout rates and poor skills alignment with labour market opportunities. Thus,on 29^th July 2019Miss. Michelini Cristina from Bridge ‘U’ guided grade XI CBSE, IBDP and IGCSE ‘A’ and ‘AS’ level students on how to use the platform to make well informed choice on the course and the university they aspire to study in. She guided them on on university admission, a wide gamut of academic programs in countries abroad, including the United States of America, Canada, the United Kingdom, Ireland, Australia, Europe and Singapore.
