organised Model United Nations for the 9th time. This is considered
the largest of all MUNs conducted in the entire city of Bangalore with as much
as 16 committees and about 800 delegates participating from schools across the
city.
We the students from Jain International Residential
School (JIRS) participated in KMUN 2019. We were 16 in number and participated
in 6 allotted committees. We represented different countries and started our
research on given agenda. We submitted our position papers prior to the
official session which begun on 18th of July 2019. The conference
lasted for 3 days with opening ceremony on 18th July and closing
ceremony 20th July. Socials were conducted on 19th July. We
were accompanied by two members of faculty everyday to the conference. They
were very supportive in our research and further proceedings.
The opening ceremony started with a short video of
KMUN and the principal of SKCHEC addressed the gathering by her motivating
speech.
We, thedelegate of different countries had discussion

We passed directives on the crisis and discussed
extensively in the committee which was set by the EB members. On the second day,
the International Press Conference was conducted and interrogated us on various
issues. We found the session was one of the best. On the third day, we solved the
crises successfully. Finally, all the committees came to an end with lots of
prize winners who were duly felicitated in the closing ceremony.
Master.
Dhruv Shah won a Special Mention in the Fortune 500 Committee
– representing Qualcomm.
Although these three days were tiresome, this proved to
be an extensive and comprehensive platform for students to develop their skills
like speaking, debating, researching and presenting. Basically, KMUN gave us
the opportunity to explore a lot in terms of all aspects.
