STUDENTS’ COUNCIL ELECTION
The
election for the Students’ Council was held at Jain International Residential
School on 6th July 2019. The objective of appointing the Student’ Council is to
provide a platform to the students to develop leadership qualities by
organizing and carrying out school activities and service projects. In
addition to planning events that contribute to school spirit and community
welfare, the Student’ Council is the voice of the student body. They help
share student ideas, interests and concerns with the school wide community.
In
the preliminary round, candidates who had filed nominations were asked to give a
three minute speech to present their case on why they should be elected for the
posts they had stood for. This was followed by the students voting. A total of forty five students filed
nominations for the posts of Head Boy, Head Girl, IBDP Council Member, CIE
Council Member, Cultural Secretary, Sports Secretary, House Captains and Vice
Captains (Junior and & Senior).
In
the second round, the Apex committee headed by the Chief Executive Officer,
Wing Cdr. K. L. Ganesh Sharma (Retd.) selected the candidates on the virtue of their
merit and as per the requirement of the selection criteria. The selection
criteria includes parameters such as excellence in academics, sports, over all behavior
in the academic block, dorms, and in the campus as a whole. The Apex body also
considers students’ voting. The results were announced on 10th July
2019.
Finally
twenty five students were elected. All the elected students were conferred
designation badges and sashes in the Investiture ceremony on 11th July 2019.
